Mile 1060: Morrison Rockwood State Park

We got up and headed back into town for coffee and breakfast.

On our way we ran into Chip. He said he had been looking for us and hoped to ride out with us a bit. and about twenty miles out he decided to take a different way and we said our goodbyes.

So we began our journey out to Morrison Rockwood State Park had a grand entrance...we thought we would never make it...and in order to grab an ice cream from the small shop on the lake, we didn't not want to go back up the hill we came from, so we decided to take the "short" off roach detour around the river.

Through mud and brush and up hills with tall grass we pushed our bikes. By the time we reach the campsite we were pretty tired and the bugs were out. We picked out a nice camp spot, enjoyed the shower facilities most of all :) and tried to build a fire (failed). It was a beautiful part of Illinois filled with trees and shade....a lovely break from squatting in the towns...
