The day was hot, and our route included a pretty crazy and busy road that stressed both of us out. Luckily a only an hour into our trip, we hit a trail that wasn't exactly where we wanted to go, but was close enough and jumped off it when we hit the town Lindsey; a small town with a little cafe and about ten women who were learning how to weave yard outside the sandwich shop. All the women were nice and even showed us a thing or two on what they were doing.
When we left Lindsey we came across a bike shop, since we hadn't quite found the right way to get to where we watned we decided to stop. The two men running the store were great. One of the guys, went out of his way to print us out a map and give us so many details we didn't even know what to do with. It was obvious he was itching to join us.
So onward we went heading towards Perrysburg and Maumme, two river towns...when we came into the Perrysburg, Sasha got another flat. So, we sat there, tired, fixing the tired, and me trying to be positive. However, we knew we had a long road ahead of us and we just hoped that Perrysburg or Maumee would give us something to take our minds off the journey. Sure enough, as we came into Perrysburg we discovered a lively little town full of shops, sitting over the well-kept river. We were so excited to grab food and to see new faces and be in civilization for awhile...as we started planning our next steps we realized the next day we would be faced with pretty bad storms and would be nice to try to pick up the pace.
So we hit the road, hoping to find Wabash Trail where we planned on camping that night. However it was a struggle to find the right trail. Maumee was beautiful with parks all alongside the river. A lady stopped anxious to talk with us and helped guide us to the trail...further up the road when we struggled again to find more specifics on the trail another couple strolled with us, guiding us, once again, exactly where we needed to be. The sun was starting to set, but we knew we should get some mileage in, and we were not afraid to do some biking in the dark to move us further along.

We turned on our lights, and laughed our way along the trail...until it dwindled into grassy dirt trails...and then widened into grass trails going through farms.
Finally, when we became exhausted, we found a nice little spot tucked a bit off the trail and in between some trees and set up our tent, happy that it seemed a perfect spot for us.
Little did we know that in a couple hours we would be rudely awakened by an ATV and a few teenages going down the path at 2 am....but those just are minor details---and of course we were not scared:).
